Prior to the first NBA game since mid-March, members of the Utah Jazz team and staff took a knee while the United States national anthem played, to bring attention to the racial inequalities that exist in America today and to support the idea that black lives matter.

This peaceful protest consequently angered and exposed a large number of apparent anti-Constitution Jazz fans, who declared online that they will no longer be watching the Jazz, or the NBA in general.

Why? These ex-fanatics are evidently upset there are people in this country that have opinions that are different than their own and, rather than learn about the why some are choosing to protest, they opt to only listen to their already held opinion and to follow the directions of their commanding leader:

Looking forward to live sports, but any time I witness a player kneeling during the National Anthem, a sign of great disrespect for our Country and our Flag, the game is over for me!

Please, a moment of silence for this fallen fan.

Thank you.

Resigning from fandom isn’t easy. Nowadays, it requires having access to the internet, a decent command of the English language, and the use of the recycled “kneeling is anti-military” narrative.

Before you bereave, to show complete respect, I suggest listening to an appropriate, larghetto violin piece in the background, like this one.
